If you want to get bombarded with history of a city take a city tour! The two and half hour tour gave us much more insight into the city than trying to figure it out online.
At the junction of the Danube and Morava rivers lies the ruins of Devín Castle. Only 20 minutes by bus from Bratislava, the castle and the surrounding area is a great way to experience some of the Slovakian country side. The castle holds great historical significance for the country and is well worth the visit.
If there is ever a wet or you just don’t want to spend the whole day in the sun, don’t fear as you can’t count the museums on your two hands. There is even a special area, Museumsquartier named after all the museum within walking distance.
